Hritalika Teej, one of the significant festivals of Hindu is fondly celebrated by ladies by fasting for their husband’s health and prosperity. A whole day fasting along with continuous dancing and singing mostly invites health complications like fainting, dehydration, irregular blood pressure and other forms of weakness in women. Keeping such scenario in mind Rotaract club of Bhaktapur along with other partners organized a primitive health service camp for women on 28th August 2014 for wellbeing of women on Teej. The slogan of the program was “women for women”. With technical support of Dr. Iwamura Memorial Hospital we facilitated 82 women with primary health care followed by Gynecological counseling and check up by expert Dr. Chandra Shova Amatya with her team. Our camp also delivered free drinking water to all the devotees during the festival. Total 26 volunteers (Rotaractors and Interactors) were present on site to assist in the camp. Besides providing basic health service, Women specially had opportunity to discuss their gynecological problems with an expert. The program was well appreciated by the beneficiaries and the community.
